“ Although I forgot to take pictures before we ate, I was super happy to have a NY Greek salad. I had mentioned to the waitress how they put potato salad in the Greek salad where I now live. The waitress made light of the potato salad situation. She was really nice. We sat pretty close to the window, so it was nice to see the sunlight inside the restaurant. The place is very cozy. Next time I come back to Long Island, we will go there again. ”

I ordered mine with accompaniments on the side, along with a side of rice pilaf that came with generous portions of pita bread. Both the gyro and the rice pilaf exceeded expectations. HIGHLIGHTS 1. Prime location on Main Street, Sayville (Tip: Use the public parking lot across the street for convenient parking). “ Note: 4 cent charge on $1 for use of debit/credit card. One night, we decided to eat out and pick this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed when we entered the restaurant. The hostess (who is also our waitress) was friendly and energetic. She took care of her customers effectively and efficiently. After we ordered, she brought a complimentary dish of pita and chickpea dipping sauce (which was really good). She kept our water glass filled constantly. We ordered: - gyro pita - chicken melt pita Everything was good. We were so full that we opted not to have dessert. Give them a try if you are in the neighborhood. ”

“ Nice place. Clean, friendly staff. We ordered the hummus as an appetizer, and it came with plenty of warm, fresh pita. Delicious and plenty of garlic flavor. Greek salads are included with the meals... also very well done. I had a pasta dish with chicken and broccoli... it was ok.. for me it could have used a little more garlic..or maybe romano cheese.. but it was good, big portion and well presented. Also had a very nice Greek beer which I didn't even know was a thing. Lol. ”
“ This place has great gyros. The pita is soft, thick and fresh. The meat is tender. They are very generous with the lettuce. Also our waitress Christina was Soooo nice and good. She came by many times, brought us extra napkins, water, etc. The only draw back is the place can get a little loud. It's mostly hard surfaces and there were a few loud parties so it was hard to hear each other. ”
“ I'm a big fan of Aegean Cafe. I've been eating here for 20+ years and they have my favorite gyro of all time. Yes, their entrees are expensive. Yes, some of the staff members are rude at times (not all of them)... but their food is consistent and always fills my Mediterranean cravings. I give them 5 stars because I love their gyro as much now as I loved it when I was in elementary school... and to be that consistent for so long is worthy of a 5 star rating. I hope they continue serving my favorite gyro until I can't eat anymore ”
“ I'm still in search for the best gyro around the Sayville area, and I've found it! Aegean Cafe is the only place I will be going for my gyro. I ordered via Uber Eats, and was not disappointed. It was 20-30 min from order to delivery, everything was super fresh and delicious. I ordered a lamb gyro pita with a side of French fries. The gyro meat was tender, the pita was soft and fresh & the Tiziki sauce was incredible. The next time I eat from here, I want to go into the restaurant. ”
